ACCOYO BIG WIG of MapleBrook

Bigwig is a
Full Accoyo, and it shows. He sports an incredible fleece, with blinding
lusterous crimp everywhere, a soft touch to the hand, and incomparable density!
Bigwig's friendly disposition makes him a pleasure to work with, and hopefully
an aspect he will pass onto his offspring.
Bigwig's dam, Oro, is a white Futurity winner. She was first purchased by Mike
Tierney (Maple Brook Farm) at the AOBA auction for $48,000, when the industry
was still very young, in 1998. We then purchased her mainly because of how
impressed we were with Bigwig. Oro was then sold to Windy Knoll Alpacas, where
she is now a core foundation female among their herd of many great accoyos.
Bigwig's sire, PCA Accoyo Bolivar, is a premier herdsire at Maple Brook Farm,
demanding a $5,000 stud fee. He is one of the densest sons of the famed Vengador,
who sold for $101,000 at age 11. Being that Bigwig is a grandson of Vengador,
that means he descends from the ever famous Shere Khan, who is the symbol of
alpaca breeding excellence throughout the World. There are only 2 known sons of
Shere Khan in America, making Bigwig's bloodline very rare and highly
sought after.
Bigwig is one of the only full accoyo sons out of PCA Accoyo Bolivar. His
sister, Maple Brook Fallujah, sold for $89,000 at the 2005 AOBA National Auction
in Utah. This is a rare opporunity to captivate on these extraordinary genetics

Accoyo's oro Oro is a
spectacular full accoyo production female. Even at 8 years old, her fleece
is still amazing, and could easily be mistaken as a 2 yr old’s blanket.
Oro’s crimp is so well defined and consistent, that it’s hard to believe she
is her age! |
PCA accoyo
Bolivar "As proud as
the South American liberator himself, Peruvian Accoyo Bolivar is one of the
densest offspring of our premier Accoyo herdsire Vengador, yet without
sacrificing fineness, character and luster. Bolivar is proud, upright, with
solid bone and the perfect head of his sire. His sire, Vengador, won the
Adult White Class in the 1995 AOBA show and has produced many show winners
on the US show circuit. Vengador is renowned for his uniform fleece, at 19
microns at all three side locations. Bolivar's dam, Peruvian Accoyo
Tayabamba, is one of our top producing females. Bolivar is the quality of
male that can single handedly upgrade a breeding program." (Greg Mecklem,
2000) Bolivar's cria, Maple Brook Fallujah, sold at the AOBA National
Auction for $89,000 to Libby & Larry Johnson of Likada Farm Alpacas.
Bolivar's cria, Maple Brook Shabu, recently sold for $77,000 at the
"Breeder's Edge Auction" in Leesburg, Virginia to Kim & Warren Shand, Windy
Knoll Alpacas. |

Peruvian Vengador At 17 years of age this outstanding male requires no
introduction to most alpaca breeders. When we sheared his fleece last spring
we were totally wowed by a 16-year-old fleece that still has density and a
beautiful fine crimp, not to mention the incredibly soft-handle. In March 2008 while attending the Virginia Classic, we decided to enter our three Vengador offspring in the Get of Sire Class. Vengador placed second, proving that those orignal imported genetics are still making an impact.
